Welcome to my blog! I have no idea what I am doing or what I want this blog to be. I just know that I love real estate and I love computers. I thought it would be smart to combine the two into a blog that talks about my life which is all about computers and real estate. At least, I hope it is all about real estate as I am slowly getting started in the real estate investing world. I actually just bought my first house, which I plan to turn into a rental!
I want to write this first post to tell you a little bit about myself. I have been a computer nerd my entire life, although I do not consider myself to be that nerdy. I work for an insurance company managing their antiquated IT department. I got fed up with my life which consisted of going to work, being annoyed at work, going out with my friends, drinking, and then repeating the process over and over without any progress.
I discovered the world of real estate by chance when I heard one of those commercials for a real estate seminar. Luckily, I did not buy into the coaching which came with that seminar (they say they are free…). I did find an interest in flipping houses after attending the free seminar which actually taught me almost nothing except that I needed to go to the next seminar, which was not free! I bought as many books as I could about real estate and learned so much!
I learned that there are many ways to invest in real estate like wholesaling, buying rentals or even buying notes. I decided that rental properties were the best option for me at this point in my life. The problem was I had no money and no idea what I was doing. I kept reading, kept learning and eventually realized I could buy a house to live in that could become a rental property!
I started looking at houses, found an agent, found a lender, and boom bought a house! It was not that easy of course, it took a while to figure out what kind of house I wanted and how to get that house. I also spent a lot of time researching the best loans and many other things. Real estate is complicated!
I have to mention that one of the blogs I found that helped me the most was https://InvestFouMore.com. A guy named Mark Ferguson created it and it is amazing! So much better than anything else out there. I highly recommend you check it out if you are interested in real estate at all!
So I bought a house, got promoted at my job after I realized it really did not suck that bad, and I had a girlfriend now. Things are just getting started for me and I could not be more excited!
